Gurugram: RWA charges extra, Suncity residents file a police complaint

Suncity is a residential township located on Golf Course Road where its residents have filed a police complaint and alleged that the RWA of the colony was harassing them.

The residents also stated that they received messages and telephone calls harassing them for paying the RWA VAS fees to avail of further services.

Meanwhile, it has been argued by the RWA that it did nothing illegal but behaved in compliance with the law.”

Gurugram: Two years after takeover order, builders yet to finish infra work

The builders of licensed colonies whose takeover was declared two years ago by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) did not complete the pending infrastructure neither worked nor paid for the city authorities.

In 2018, the Department of City Planning approved the acquisition of

Phases 1, 2, and 3 of DLF, Palam Vihar, and Sushant Lok l by the MCG. According to the comprehensive project report prepared at that time, all infrastructure work was to be completed before the acquisition by the developers of these colonies. If the contractors could not complete the outstanding infrastructure, they would have to pay the MCG to do the job.

DLF areas are also developing operations, such as road re-carpeting and water supply, by the local authorities. Here, people protested for a long time about their respective councilors’ lack of basic facilities.

Following the takeover of these colonies, MCG would be tasked with the road, sewer, water, parks, and other infrastructure maintenance. The colonies are currently being operated by their designers.

The municipal commissioner has named ward committees to enable councilors to handle civic issues. It also stated that “Ward supervisors ought to be made available to ward committees to engage satisfactorily in daily complaints and grievances.”

South Mumbai’s Bhendi Bazaar redevelopment project completes the first phase

The Bhendi Bazaar Reconstruction Project in South Mumbai is India’s largest-ever urban renovation project and has finished the total development stage which is the first stage of over 20,000 residents in a total of 250 buildings.

In the first phase of the scheme, the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust completed two high-rise superb structures with over 610 residences and 128 commercial outlets, which were rehabilitated by the state government over the past few months after lifting their lock-down.

This is one of the first major rehabilitation projects under the 2009 cluster rehabilitation policy of the state government.

A few months ago people began moving to the new premises. Nevertheless, the Covid19 outbreak was declared and the change mechanism was halted and re-opened when the regulations were loosened.”

Both 36 and 41-floor towers were constructed in 2016 and completed in 45 months.

Main parts of southern Mumbai will be deconstructed by the project with broader routes and infrastructure, which are defined in most parts of the day by the narrow roads and high traffic around Mohammed Ali road, Nagpada, and pydhonie.

The MHADA has declared over 80 per cent of houses old and worn out and unfit to live as dilapidated. Some of the buildings and chawls are 150 years old and sometimes suffer sudden accidents especially in the monsoons.

This refurbishment consists of 16.5 acres of land, covering over 250 decrepit homes, 3,200 families, and 1,250 shops, all of which have been incorporated into sustainable construction through 12 new construction units, large highways, modern infrastructure, open spaces, and highly visible shopping areas.

In Bhendi Bazaar for decades, more than 90% of the residents had lived without rights of ownership as tenants, and these 610 occupants are now being given properties with the completion of the first phase.
